Brochure Mailer/Invite

This was a project for Union Rescue Mission's Annual Spring Golf Classic. It's an 11x17 spread folded down to a final size of 5.5x8.5 and wafer-taped for mailing purposes. The project manager wanted to go with a classic Hawaiian Retro Style look in order to catch the eye of the everyday golfers in URM's donor base. Inside, the mailer describes a little bit about the golf course, about URM and it's partner non-profit hosting the event, along with a brief description of what to expect, sponsorship benefits, schedule of events, a map to the country club and some current stats on homelessness in Los Angeles County.

This project will be printed in-house through our Konica-Minolta BizHub C352. And it will be folded by a staff of hard-working volunteers who generously give of their time to help at the Mission. This is a great annual fundraising event for the Mission. At last year's golf classic, we met Southwest Offset Printing, who this year, generously donated their printing services for URM's Annual Report, saving the Mission literally thousands of dollars. URM will forever be grateful for that especially during these tough economic times. Thank you for reading.

Formal Photography: Winter Ball 2009

Over the weekend I had the privilege of photographing a few high school students before their Winter Formal. The main subject is the daughter of a dear friend of mine. I also photographed her best friend and family. The images above have been brought down in resolution. More will be posted later. Thanks for viewing!

Logo Design

Here is a logo that I designed for a client who does her own handcraft art. She was in need of a logo for her craft design business. So she called me. After some discussion, I came up with a few designs. Some are shown above.

Her favorite was the one posted below. She can now post this on her internet sales site and look like a legit craft business. Once she finalizes her site, I'll post it here. Thanks for reading!

Simple Web Design

Jason Ludwig, Director of Basketball Operations at Santa Clara University and former personal youth basketball trainer for my son, approached me last year to create for him a simple but yet informative "business card" splash page for his Youth Basketball Camp and Clinics that he holds during the off season. The above image was just one of many samples. At the time we started this creative project, he transitioned from his Assistant Video Coordinator position at UCLA (where during his time, the Bruins reached the Final Four in consecutive years) to his current position at Santa Clara U.

Hopefully, when this season is over, we can get back to the drawing board and finish his website. Jason is a great coach and tutor for youths involved in basketball. His little brother and my son are currently teammates on MHS's Varsity Basketball Team. (Below is a screen shot of his old site...which is still up!).  Thanks for reading!

Annual Reports

In mid-December 2008, I completed a 6 month-long project of URM's 24 page Annual Report (as seen above). On New Year's Eve, it was delivered and received with much praise and fanfare from my coworkers at URM. (For a detailed view of the cover, visit my previous post entry at http://genesis-creative.blogspot.com/2008/11/social-work-annual-report.html).

The best thing about this project was that the printing was totally FREE thanks to the people over at Southwest Offset Printing.

With this year's annual report, I plan on entering it in a few design contests. Hopefully the same result of FIRST PLACE will occur like my entry did for the 2007 competition.
